      SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR
      KERN COUNTY STUDENTS


      THE KERN COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT REQUIRES THAT ALL STUDENTS HAVE THEIR IDENTITY VERIFIED. THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED IN ONE OF TWO WAYS**:


        1.)  VERIFICATION FROM HOME OR OFFICE THROUGH EVS (ELECTRONIC VERIFICATION SYSTEMS, L.L.C., www.everification.net).


        HERE'S HOW:

        Before you take the Final Exam of Home Traffic SchoolŪ you will be asked to answer some basic information questions (Name, Address, etc.) about yourself. Then EVS uses that information to check your identity online! Instantly!


        YOU WON'T HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR HOME OR OFFICE AND SPEND TIME, (AND GAS) TO GO TO A SPECIAL TESTING CENTER TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM! GREAT!


        This method will merely verify your submitted information and then randomly ask you questions about your background.


        If you verify the information and answer correctly, you may proceed with the final exam online without having to attend a test site. Once you successfully pass the final exam, your completion certificate will be sent to you from our corporate office. It is then your responsibility to deliver the certificate to your court prior to your assigned "Due Date."

        (*If your verification is not successful, you will be required to attend a test site. See #2 below)


        IMPORTANT

        ALL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE THE 25 MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS OF THE FINAL EXAMINATION IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE EVS ONLINE IDENTITY VERIFICATION PROCESS, WITHOUT INTERMISSION OR SIGNING OFF THE PROGRAM. IF FOR ANY REASON YOU SIGN OFF, OR EXIT THE PROGRAM AFTER HAVING YOUR IDENTITY VERIFIED, AND PRIOR TO COMPLETING THE FINAL EXAMINATION, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE YOUR IDENTITY VERIFIED AGAIN BEFORE YOU MAY RETURN TO THE FINAL EXAM QUESTIONS. (If you must be re-verified, you will need to call our office to have your account re-set and a $5.00 fee will be posted to your account.) PLEASE! DON'T HAVE YOUR IDENTIFICATION VERIFIED UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM!

        ATTEND A TEST SITE:


        IF YOU WOULD RATHER NOT USE THE EVS METHOD (OR IF YOU CANNOT BE VERIFIED USING THE SYSTEM), YOU CAN ATTEND ONE OF OUR MORE THAN 150 TEST SITES INSTEAD!


        HERE'S HOW:

        AFTER COMPLETING HOME TRAFFIC SCHOOLŪ ON THE INTERNET, YOU COMPLETE THE FINAL EXAMINATION "IN PERSON," AT A LOCATION WHERE YOUR IDENTIFICATION AND YOUR COMPLETION OF THE EXAM CAN BE EASILY VERIFIED. WE'VE ARRANGED FOR YOU TO BE ABLE TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM AT ONE OF OVER 150 DIFFERENT CONVENIENT LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA


        Upon arrival at the test center, you will be "logged in" by our on site personnel, at which time you will be required to present a valid form of picture identification.

        (Your driver's license is most appropriate.) You'll then be given a PASSWORD that will allow you to resume/re-enter Home Traffic SchoolŪ and take the final exam.


        When you are done, we will immediately send you your certificate which you must then sign and send /take to the court yourself prior to your court assigned "Due Date".


        You will also receive an e-mail notification of your completion at the address you provided while enrolling. You may also, for a $6.00 service charge, receive a duplicate "hard copy" of your certificate of completion sent to you. (See our registration page for this, and other delivery services, including RUSH service , if you are late.)
